As Tucson heads into its beautiful time of year and we begin training for our big hike in February we are
hittin the
hikin.

My mom is an avid hiker and sets quite the fast pace so she's a great training partner for James and me. We settled upon
Sabino Canyon for our hike this week and attempted to do a 9 mile loop.

We had some
unfortunate setbacks due to some poorly marked
trailheads but we eventually found the right trail after navigating some tricky switchbacks. James did great- he's hasn't been hiking in a long time and it working on year 7 of having his
ACL torn..... I secretly think it may have reattached itself because James hit the trail like a beast. He only cried uncle twice and asked us to stop for a break.

Being that we meandered across several trails and took a detour up toward a peak we have no idea how far we went. What we do know is that it was a great hike and a beautiful day in Tucson!

We already have plans to re-attempt the 9 mile loop the Saturday after Thanksgiving- I think we'll make it!
