Family Update- April

So it's been a while. I plead illness (we've had the stomach bug twice since February), a vow renewal/60th birthday party and just general insanity of having two kids.

James and I got to have 5 days away from the kids in April to go to Rocky Point with (almost) my entire extended family from my Mom's side to celebrate my Mom's 60th birthday and for a vow renewal. It was a very busy trip but it was lovely to get to spend time with family away from the kids. And to be able to talk to people without being interrupted five times in five minutes.

Fox
This boy is getting big fast. He's had a talking explosion lately- around 17 months he decided he wanted to communicate. He can say apple, teeth, wawa (water), puppy, Beebee (Bianca), up and a slew of other simple words. He's sometimes shy about talking but its nice for him to be able to ask for some things that he wants. Started to have a tiny temped when he doesn't get his way- some crying and flailing about. Loves to be held and loves to be held while you're cooking because he wants to see whats going on.

Quick Fox Facts
* Still on two naps and loving it. He snuggles in for his morning nap still but its now limited to an hour.
*Still drinking half almond milk/half toddler formula
*Still a bad eater and doesn't really eat a ton.
*Sleeping through the night consistently (AMEN!) but is an early bird up at 6am usually.
*Loves to play outside and dig in the dirt. Falls down a lot and generally always has skinned knees. Basically all boy, all the time.

Bee
Our main update for Bee is that she's potty trained! YEA! We picked a long stretch in March when I was off work and James was off work so that we could concentrate on it together and thus not go insane. We prepped far in advance with sitting on the potty after meals, stickers towards dress up dresses for success and a count down chain. She still never wanted to do it and said she didn't want to up to the day we buried the diapers. The first day was discouraging with five accidents, the second day we had three and the third day we had one. She pretty much just then decided that we weren't giving in and and that this was life. She's only had a handful of accidents since then and goes to the bathroom when she needs to go by herself. She can hold it a long time and is great about asking to go in public. It was pretty much my potty training dream and one of the reasons that we waited so long to do it to make sure she was as ready as she was going to be. She still wears a diaper at night and a pull up at nap since she's still in her crib.

Quick Bee Facts
*Is ever telling me she's about to be 4. She is in face 3 1/2 but she keeps trying to make it her birthday.
*She a good eater and a good sleeper- bless her because she's wild when she's awake.
*One afternoon nap per day still but is occasionally skipping.
*Is starting to like to play with her brother and screams his name across the house to get his attention.
*Started ballet/tap classes and is over the moon excited about it. She loves to be called Mademoiselle and screams "I'm a ballerina!" in dance class.
*Loves dresses, twirling, princesses, fairies and tutus. Basically all girl, all the time.

The next big adventure is a Mommy & Me trip to LA to go to Disneyland with just us girls. NO BOYS as Bee likes to screech.
